This Sunday is about Hope! “Hope” is commonly used to mean a wish: its strength is
the strength of the person’s desire. But in the Bible hope is the confident expectation of
what God has promised and its strength is in His faithfulness.
“In Scripture, according to the Hebrew and Greek words translated by the word “hope”
and according to the biblical usage, hope is an indication of certainty. “Hope” in
Scripture means “a strong and confident expectation.” Though archaic today in modern
terms, hope is akin to trust and a confident expectation.”
Biblical hope is not a fantasy rather it entails certainty, not on works we have done rather
what God has done. It is God’s hope for us. God has initiated God’s Way; the question
is whether we have the moral and spiritual capacity to accept God’s offering. Do we have
faith to clear our clogged minds or overcharged minds and become like a child and
trust God to lead us? Psalm 42:5a “Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are
you in turmoil within me? Hope in God…”
Come join us on Sunday at 10 a.m. to hear more about God’s hope!
