Giving
“This most generous God who gives seed to the farmer that becomes bread for your meals is more than extravagant with you. God gives you something you can then give away, which grows into full-formed lives, robust in God, wealthy in every way so that you can be generous in every way…”
2 Corinthians 9:11 (The Message).
Giving is an expression of gratitude rather than a requirement or obligation. The goal of giving is for each of us to gratefully share and steward blessings God has given us in order to become more like Him and to bless many for the glory of God.
Covina UMC invites you to use our online giving through Vanco. Please click on the Vanco button above and it will direct you to the corresponding site. We hope through this tool, your online giving will be easier. We appreciate your generosity.
Why do we pledge?
Our responsibility is to give to God in response to His loving generosity. The church is a vehicle for accomplishing the work of God. It is we, the Body of Christ, who accomplish His work through our giving. We give through the church, not to the church. We are called to use all that God has given us in service to others. Annual giving supports everything we do and are at Covina United Methodist Church. Your gifts of time, talent and treasure are spent on all aspects of our worship, out- reach, and community support and engagement.
Together we have affected, in ways both large and small, the lives of the people both within and beyond the walls of this church. Through the community nurtured by your gifts, we have equipped and empowered countless individuals and families To Be and To Make Disciples of Christ.
It’s not too late to turn in your pledge card to the church. If you’re considering online giving please indicate it on the card.
“Now as you excel in everything – in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in utmost eagerness, and in our love for you – so we want you to excel also in this generous undertaking.”
– 2 Corinthians 8:7 (NRSV)
